Deaf Child

Exeter Deaf Academy (“the Academy”) provides nurturing education and care tailored to the individual needs of Deaf young people.  The sense of belonging to an inspiring bilingual community transforms students as they develop language skills and journey towards independence and fulfilling their own potential.

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Fundraiser looking to join a small but ambitious team who are about to launch a new capital funding appeal?

In the spring of this year the Academy will begin to build a groundbreaking, purpose-built facility scheduled to open in 2019. This new world-class Academy will change the lives of Deaf students. It will break down barriers to Deaf young people, bring communities together and enable families to thrive.

We are looking for a dynamic Fundraiser who will work as a key member of the Fundraising and Marketing teams in delivering the funds and awareness needed to make our Appeal a success.

This is a role for someone with excellent fundraising experience, with a proven track record of developing income streams. The role is focused on community, corporate and events fundraising and you will be committed to delivering excellent supporter care, developing relationships with donors to ensure long term support. You will develop good working relationships both within the Academy and with external bodies, being willing to work flexibly and as a member of a collaborative team.

We are looking for an individual who is a team, player with a can-do attitude, being pro-active in developing external relationships, spotting fundraising opportunities and delivering effective ‘products’ that enable us to hit our appeal fundraising target.

Our vision is a brighter future for Deaf young people. If you feel you could be part of this story, we would like to hear from you.
